Hello friends of Pink Magnolia, we’re back with another style spotlight! This time I’d like to introduce to you our Park West Manager Cady Howe! Are you ready to learn a bit about her? Take it away Cady!
Tell us a bit about yourself!
I was born in Indianapolis and then moved to Minneapolis where I lived for 8 years before moving to Raleigh. I’ve been in Raleigh for 14 years where I attended Wakefield High School and Meredith College. I always knew growing up that I wanted to work in the fashion industry. In high school I took a few sewing classes and interned with a local designer both of which I really enjoyed. I knew then that I was doing what I was supposed to be doing in life! I graduated from Meredith College in 2014 with a major in fashion merchandising and a minor in marketing. I married my husband, Nate, in November 2018 and we have a 2 year old golden retriever named Knox. I’m Burn Boot Camp obsessed - if I’m not at PMB, you know where I am!
Do you have any style inspirations?
I get most of my style inspiration from bloggers! If I’m ever stumped on what to wear in the morning I pull up some of my favorite accounts for inspiration. Our photographer/stylist, Allison, introduced me to @livingmybeststyle on Instagram and I always order some great, reasonably priced things through her! I have always been told I have a more “boho” or “edgy” style, but I really just go with what’s going to be most comfortable for me. I love graphic tees, denim jackets (this is an absolute staple in my wardrobe), and simple pieces of jewelry that you can layer for a more bold look. You will rarely catch me in a dress these days!
What trends are you looking forward to this year and if you could start any or bring something back, what would it be?
I LOVE animal print and it’s really making a full comeback this year. I have definitely been adding a lot of pieces to my animal print collection recently. If you see any animal print in stores this spring/summer, you might know which one of the buyers is behind it!
Everything comes full circle in fashion and the past few years I’ve been seeing a lot from the 90s and early 2000s. One thing that hasn’t made a comeback is crimped hair! I’m eagerly awaiting its return...
And lastly, what is your favorite part about working at Pink Magnolia?
I love how every single stylist gets a hand in almost every aspect of our company. In my past retail jobs I wasn’t given as many opportunities to gain hands-on experience, but I love how Samantha really allows her employees to get involved in her business and be more than just a salesperson. Each of our stylists gains experience here that they wouldn’t be able to obtain many other places!
I hope y’all liked learning a bit about part of our team! Let us know if you’d like to see more and you’ll be hearing from us soon!
Love, The Pink Team
